Our Story

In 2002, after practicing more than fifteen years in the area of intellectual property at Nims, Howes, Collison, Hansen & Lackert, and then at Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper & Scinto, LLP, Rob started the Law Office of Robert L. Powley, which is now Powley & Gibson, P.C.

The firm has grown steadily over the last twenty-one years with James M. Gibson joining the firm in early 2006 and Thomas Curtin joining in 2015.  Jim has practiced in the IP field for twenty five years, having started his career at Morgan & Finnegan, L.L.P. and later becoming a partner at Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper & Scinto, LLP.  Tom has been practicing in the IP field for thirty years starting at Nims, Howes, Collison, Hansen & Lackert where he became a partner, then of counsel at King & Spalding and partner at Lathrop & Gage before joining Powley & Gibson, P.C.
